Private truffle hunting for your guests in Provence
La Truffe française welcomes your guests to Suze-la-Rousse for three hours in the grove: follow the dogs as they search, learn about black truffles and taste them. A private session is reserved for your group once a quotation has been agreed. Hunting depends on truffle maturity and the weather; finding truffles is never guaranteed.

The discussion covers black truffles, maturity, storage and uses in cooking. Guests can ask their own questions during the visit.
Taste and ask further questions
A truffle tasting completes the programme. Its contents are confirmed before booking. Domaine Les Hermessaines wine tasting can be arranged for adults, with an alcohol-free alternative.
What to include in your enquiry
Hotels, guesthouses, concierges and agencies can arrange their guests’ visit through one contact. To assess the programme and prepare a quotation, tell us:
- Your preferred date, an alternative date and the timing constraints of your itinerary.
- The total number of guests, including children. We do not need a list of guest names.
- The preferred language for the explanations. An English website does not confirm an English-speaking session.
- Your transport arrangements, especially a coach, and any mobility needs in the grove.
- Any questions about tasting contents or dietary requirements.
Before confirming your guests’ visit
We prepare a quotation setting out the programme, total price including tax, confirmed language and cancellation or rescheduling terms. An enquiry alone reserves neither a place nor a time slot. If it rains, the visit is cancelled under the terms provided before booking. The precise meeting point is shared individually after confirmation.
Language, accessibility, coach access and tasting contents must be confirmed before booking. Transport, accommodation and a full meal are not included. The quotation identifies the organiser and invoicing arrangements.

The calendar runs from late November 2026 to March 2027. March sessions are proposed subject to end-of-season conditions. Outside black truffle season, the programme is agreed in advance, without a promise of hunting or harvesting Tuber melanosporum.

Truffles harvested during the session and offered for sale can be purchased at €900/kg, subject to availability and up to 100 g per participant. Minimum truffle purchase: €50, separate from the workshop. Example: 60 g costs €54. No quantity is guaranteed to be available. Wine bottles are sold separately at the estate’s prices.

Can hotel guests book a private truffle hunt in Provence?
Yes. La Truffe française offers a three-hour private session in Suze-la-Rousse by appointment and advance quotation, for up to 40 guests including children. The date, programme and private booking arrangements are confirmed before reservation.
How much does a private truffle grove visit cost?
The individual reference price is €99 per person including tax. Exclusivity and the group discount are quoted according to group size and programme. Multiplying €99 by the number of guests does not automatically give the price of a private visit.
Can the session take place in English or another language?
Tell us your preferred language when you enquire. The language of the explanations is confirmed before booking. Translated website pages and PDF information sheets do not confirm the language spoken on site.
Can a hunt be part of an itinerary around Grignan or the Vaucluse?
You can include the three-hour session in Suze-la-Rousse in your own itinerary once dates are confirmed. La Truffe française provides the workshop specified in the quotation; transport, accommodation and a full meal are arranged separately.
Can visitors buy the truffles found during the hunt?
Purchasing is optional, separate from admission, and depends on the harvest offered for sale. The participant price is €900/kg with a €50 minimum purchase and a maximum of 100 g per participant. A harvest is not guaranteed.
