01 / The House
A family, a pleasure to share.
Discovering truffles is also about meeting people. Our family welcomes you to Drôme provençale to share truffle-hunting skills and flavours at the table.
Our harvest and its origin
La Truffe française offers Tuber melanosporum exclusively, harvested in our own truffle groves in France: Drôme, Ardèche or Vaucluse, depending on the lot. We currently sell only our own harvest. The origin of your proposed lot is confirmed before payment.
02 / Truffle time
Maturity sets the pace.
Mid / late November to late March
Truffle hunting follows maturity and ground conditions. Dates are confirmed before your visit; finding truffles is not guaranteed. The fresh-truffle selection depends on available batches.

03 / From plate to glass
The taste of wine, the aroma of truffles.
Our selection from old vines in the Drôme to accompany your truffles: a Côtes-du-Rhône AOP red blending syrah, grenache, carignan and mourvèdre.
Taste it with Parmesan risotto, roast poultry or a short truffle jus: find the balance with the dish.

04 / Practical knowledge
Good guidance, for your table.

Truffled eggs: soft scrambled eggs for four
For four people, allow 8 eggs and 20 g of black truffle. Cook the eggs gently, then finish with butter and truffle off the heat.

Storing fresh truffles: chilling, timing and practical care
On arrival, chill the truffle according to its batch instructions. Start with a clean container, moisture checks and a planned meal date; no single storage period suits every truffle.

Which wine with truffle? Start with the dish
Creamy eggs, risotto or poultry: choose the wine for the whole dish. Taste it with the sauce and serve it cool enough to leave room for the truffle.
Your way with truffles.

Do I need to book before visiting?
Enquiries are welcome throughout the year, every day. Private bookings can accommodate up to 100 people, including children. We prepare a quotation based on your group size, dates and programme. Once you accept it, we confirm the appointment in Suze-la-Rousse and send you the precise meeting point individually. Wait for that confirmation before travelling; an enquiry alone does not reserve places.
How long does the visit last?
In Suze-la-Rousse, Drôme provençale, La Truffe française organises a three-hour workshop led in French only with Pascale and Lala, our truffle dog. The reference price of €99 per person including tax covers truffle hunting in our groves and a tasting with truffles and wines from our selection of old vines in the Drôme. Truffle hunting starts in mid- or late November and runs until the end of March, depending on truffle maturity and ground conditions. Dates are confirmed before your visit; no harvest is guaranteed. Outside the season, a different visit programme can be agreed in advance. Fresh-truffle sales end in mid-March. In heavy rain, we agree another date with you and reschedule the session at no extra charge.

Truffles and ordering
Where do your truffles come from?
La Truffe française offers Tuber melanosporum exclusively, harvested in our own truffle groves in France: Drôme, Ardèche or Vaucluse, depending on the lot. We currently sell only our own harvest. The origin of your proposed lot is confirmed before payment.
Are they truly fresh?
Harvested at maturity, our truffles are sorted and brushed by hand. The available selection depends on the week’s harvest.
How should I store a fresh truffle?
Storage time depends on the condition of the batch received; ask for suitable guidance when purchasing. Place the truffle in a clean food container with absorbent paper changed daily, in the coldest part of the refrigerator between 0 and 4°C. Check for condensation every day and wash the truffle only when you are ready to use it.
How can I buy your truffles?
Collect by appointment in Suze-la-Rousse or request delivery to mainland France (excluding Corsica and islands without a road link to the mainland), at the buyer’s expense. Destination, availability, charges and receiving date are confirmed before payment. Prices vary weekly with the market and the harvest. Contact us for availability and the current price before your visit.
