The registered office is the company’s legal address. The workshop meeting point is provided with confirmation; visits are by prior booking only.
1. Seller and scope
La Truffe française (MGCODB) presents truffles, products and truffle-hunting workshops. The seller's identity appears in the legal notice and must be specified in every final offer. Contact: Contact us, +33 6 83 06 02 26. These terms cover direct sales confirmed with the House. A Wecandoo booking follows the booking channel's terms supplied before commitment, without removing the customer's statutory rights.
2. Enquiry, offer and confirmation
The site accepts enquiries: a form, budget calculation or exploratory exchange does not reserve places or create a paid order. Before any commitment, the customer receives a summary identifying the seller, product or programme, quantity or group size, total price, charges, date or deadline, payment and applicable terms. The sale or booking is concluded after explicit acceptance of the final offer and confirmation by the House under the process stated in that offer. Customers can correct their details before accepting. Keep the accepted terms and summary on a durable medium, such as email or a downloadable document. Later website changes do not amend an existing contract.
3. Products, batches and availability
Truffle offers depend on the harvest and available batches. Species, origin, presentation, proposed net weight and storage instructions are stated before sale. Shape, size and appearance vary between specimens; illustrative images may not show the batch sold. This variation does not permit a different species, origin or quantity without agreement. Customers are informed of unavailability: substitution or a changed delivery date requires their agreement. If the order cannot be fulfilled and no alternative is accepted, payments for the cancelled part and charges no longer justified are refunded, without prejudice to other applicable rights.
4. Prices and invoiced weight
Consumer prices are provided by quotation in euros including tax, depending on the batch and availability. Batch price and charges are confirmed before acceptance. If a specimen's weight requires adjustment, its net weight and revised total are submitted for agreement before invoicing; no surcharge is imposed afterwards. Later market changes do not alter the price of an agreed sale. Workshop prices appear below; truffle and wine purchases are optional and separate from the ticket.
5. Payment and advance payments
The site currently collects no online payment. Payment method, due date and the nature of any advance are specified in writing before acceptance. Do not send card numbers through forms or email. For a French consumer contract, unless otherwise agreed, an advance constitutes arrhes under Article L.214-1: the consumer may withdraw by forfeiting it and the trader by repaying double. An expressly agreed acompte binds the parties under the contract and applicable law. A penalty schedule not communicated and accepted before commitment cannot be added after booking.
6. Collection, delivery and timing
Collection is by appointment in Suze-la-Rousse. Delivery depends on destination, availability and suitable product conditions. Its cost is payable by the buyer and stated before sale; browsing the site guarantees neither 24-hour delivery nor a particular carrier. The agreed date or deadline appears in the offer. If none is stated for a consumer sale, performance is without undue delay and no later than thirty days after the contract. For delays, Articles L.216-6 and L.216-7 preserve the right to request performance within a reasonable additional period and then terminate if it is not met, or to terminate immediately in statutory cases, including where the date was an essential condition communicated before the contract. Amounts due following termination are refunded within fourteen days.
7. Receipt, carriage and storage
For consumers, the risk of loss or damage passes on physical possession by the customer or a nominated third party other than the carrier, subject to the statutory exception for an independently chosen carrier. Paying delivery charges does not transfer risk when the parcel leaves. Check the address and arrange receipt; contact us about errors or absence to examine a solution and genuinely justified consequences. Follow batch storage instructions and any use-by date on receipt. Promptly report spoilage, damage or errors to Contact us. Photos help investigation but are not an automatic condition of statutory rights. Failure to note carrier reservations or report within 24 hours does not remove rights against the seller.
8. Withdrawal: perishables and dated leisure activities
Change-of-mind withdrawal is distinct from a non-conformity complaint. Fresh truffles liable to deteriorate rapidly have no statutory withdrawal right (Article L.221-28, 4°). No return or goodwill refund is accepted solely because the customer changes their mind. This rule preserves statutory guarantees and rights concerning conformity, product safety, delay or cancellation by the seller. Leisure workshops booked for a specified date or period are also exempt from withdrawal (12°). Characteristics and exceptions are disclosed before commitment. For eligible distance sales, preserved foods that do not perish rapidly, accessories and workshop vouchers without a booked date retain the statutory fourteen-day period under section 9. A gift box is assessed according to its contents and the goods concerned; calling it a gift box removes no right.
9. Withdrawal: procedure and refund
For an eligible distance contract, consumers normally have fourteen days from receipt of goods or conclusion of a service contract. Use the online withdrawal page, the model form below or an unambiguous email or postal statement to the seller, without giving a reason. Return goods within fourteen days of notification; direct return costs are payable by the consumer only if disclosed before the contract. Refunds include applicable initial standard delivery and are made within fourteen days of notification using the same payment method unless an expressly agreed alternative is free of charge. For goods, repayment may be withheld until return or proof of dispatch, whichever is earlier. Additional cost of an expressly chosen premium delivery is not refunded. Contact to arrange return is not a mandatory prior authorisation.
10. Guarantees and complaints
The seller is responsible for applicable statutory guarantees, including for fresh food. The box below explains conformity and hidden-defect guarantees for goods. The absence of withdrawal for fresh truffles does not allow unsafe or non-conforming delivery. Send the purchase reference or date, product and issue description, with available supporting information, to Contact us. Each request is assessed and useful further details may be requested. Photos can help but are not an absolute condition, and no 24-hour reporting limit extinguishes statutory guarantees. No automatic goodwill refund is offered. Where a defect is established, the remedy follows statutory conditions: bringing the goods into conformity, including replacement, or a price reduction or termination with reimbursement where due, including immediately in statutory cases. For fresh food, contact us to agree suitable collection or return arrangements before dispatch; these arrangements do not condition the exercise of your rights. No term removes mandatory rights, imposes credit instead of a legally due refund or universally caps liability at the purchase value.
11. Workshops: attendance and natural conditions
Enquiries are welcome throughout the year, every day. Private bookings can accommodate up to 100 people, including children. We prepare a quotation based on your group size, dates and programme. Once you accept it, we confirm the appointment in Suze-la-Rousse and send you the precise meeting point individually. Wait for that confirmation before travelling; an enquiry alone does not reserve places. Truffle hunting starts in mid- or late November and runs until the end of March, depending on truffle maturity and ground conditions. Dates are confirmed before your visit; no harvest is guaranteed. Outside the season, a different visit programme can be agreed in advance. Fresh-truffle sales end in mid-March. In heavy rain, we agree another date with you and reschedule the session at no extra charge. All shared and private sessions are led in French only. A translated website does not mean explanations are available in another language. Check that your guests can follow the visit in French before booking. You need to be able to walk for about an hour in the truffle groves. Wear footwear suitable for the terrain and tell us about any access requirements before booking. The advertised workshop lasts three hours with dogs searching and a tasting. Date, time, accepted group size, language, programme, access and attendance conditions are confirmed before booking. The precise meeting point is shared with the relevant participants. Search depends on season, soil and dogs: no discovery, quantity or harvest purchase is guaranteed. This does not release the House from providing the agreed service. Follow the host's instructions and wear suitable clothing. Check minor attendance, access needs and tasting allergen information before booking; do not send medical files through forms. Safety rules are not a general liability waiver.
12. Workshop cancellation and changes
Customer cancellation, lateness, absence and group-size changes are explained before booking and recorded in the accepted offer. A dated workshop does not itself grant free cancellation for personal convenience. If the House cancels or cannot provide the service, it offers a rescheduling subject to customer agreement or refunds amounts due for the cancelled service; credit is not imposed. A substantial programme or date change requires agreement. Rain or a poor harvest is not automatically force majeure. This is assessed under Article 1218 of the French Civil Code; effects, restitution and other rights depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
13. Groups, works councils and business buyers
The quotation identifies the contracting party, payer, participant count and services. Business, consumer or non-professional status depends on law and purchase purpose; a works council is not automatically treated as consumer or business for every right. Group rates require a joint booking and the quoted conditions. Employer or works-council funding is its own decision; the calculator grants no subsidy. Business payment terms, taxes, any applicable statutory late-payment charges and delivery commitments are specified separately before acceptance. Mandatory rules, including payment periods specific to perishables where applicable, remain binding.
14. Wine and partner services
Wine tasting and sales are restricted to adults. The advertised workshop includes a non-alcoholic alternative. Bottles are separate purchases; seller and price are identified before buying. A link to Domaine Les Hermessaines is not an order on its site. Partner delivery or booking commitments are not presumed identical to ours. Alcohol abuse is harmful to health; drink responsibly.
15. Complaints and applicable law
First send a written complaint to Contact us with relevant sale details. French law applies without depriving consumers of applicable mandatory protections of their habitual country of residence. No exclusive court designation restricts protective jurisdiction rules. Translations aid understanding without removing these protections. Data processing is described in the privacy policy.
Fresh black truffles by quotation
Fresh Tuber melanosporum black truffles, depending on the harvest and availability. Tell us the total weight required, meal date and destination for a proposal suited to the batch. La Truffe française offers Tuber melanosporum exclusively, harvested in our own truffle groves in France: Drôme, Ardèche or Vaucluse, depending on the lot. We currently sell only our own harvest. The origin of your proposed lot is confirmed before payment. Enquire online and collect by appointment in Suze-la-Rousse or arrange shipment in a Chronofresh parcel to mainland France (excluding Corsica and islands without a road link to the mainland), at the buyer’s expense. Net weight, origin, tax-inclusive batch price, destination, charges and receiving date are confirmed before payment.
Truffle hunting: reference price and prior quotation
In Suze-la-Rousse, Drôme provençale, La Truffe française organises a three-hour workshop led in French only with Pascale and Lala, our truffle dog. The reference price of €99 per person including tax covers truffle hunting in our groves and a tasting with truffles and wines from our selection of old vines in the Drôme. You take part in searching with Lala and lifting truffles from the soil, following the host’s instructions. Participation is part of the workshop; finding truffles is not guaranteed. The reference price is €99 per person including tax. A group discount may be agreed after contact, according to group size and programme. The quotation confirms the total before booking; truffles and wine remain optional, separate purchases. Enquiries are welcome throughout the year, every day. Private bookings can accommodate up to 100 people, including children. We prepare a quotation based on your group size, dates and programme. Once you accept it, we confirm the appointment in Suze-la-Rousse and send you the precise meeting point individually. Buy truffles harvested during your workshop
Truffles found are not included in the workshop. Buying them is optional, separate from the session and subject to availability, up to 100 g per participant. Request a quotation for the proposed batch; its weight, price and collection or delivery terms are confirmed before payment. Bottles from our selection are sold separately. Hunting and the species observed depend on the season and maturity. Neither a find nor any quantity available to buy is guaranteed. The participant price applies only to the harvest offered for sale after the session. Fresh-truffle sales end in mid-March, even when truffle hunts continue afterwards.
Taste and buy our wine selection
La Truffe française organises the truffle-hunting workshop in Suze-la-Rousse. With Pascale, you discover pairings between truffles and wines from our selection of old vines in the Drôme; this tasting is included, with an alcohol-free alternative. Tasting details and available wines are confirmed before booking. Bottles to take home are sold separately at the stated prices. Wine tasting and sales are for adults aged 18 and over.
Statutory guarantees for goods
The consumer has two years from delivery of the goods to invoke the statutory guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity becomes apparent. During this period, the consumer need only establish that the lack of conformity exists, not the date on which it became apparent.
Where the contract for the sale of goods provides for the continuous supply of digital content or a digital service for more than two years, the statutory guarantee applies to that digital content or digital service throughout the agreed supply period. During that period, the consumer need only establish that the lack of conformity affecting the digital content or digital service exists, not the date on which it became apparent.
The statutory guarantee of conformity requires the trader, where applicable, to provide all updates necessary to maintain the conformity of the goods.
The statutory guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the goods repaired or replaced within thirty days of their request, free of charge and without significant inconvenience.
If the goods are repaired under the statutory guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the original guarantee.
If the consumer requests repair of the goods but the seller requires their replacement, the statutory guarantee of conformity starts again for a period of two years from the date of replacement.
The consumer may obtain a reduction in the purchase price while keeping the goods, or terminate the contract and receive a full refund upon returning the goods, if:
1. The trader refuses to repair or replace the goods;
2. Repair or replacement of the goods takes place after a period of thirty days;
3. Repair or replacement of the goods causes significant inconvenience to the consumer, particularly where the consumer ultimately bears the costs of taking back or removing the non-conforming goods, or bears the costs of installing the repaired or replacement goods;
4. The lack of conformity persists despite the seller's unsuccessful attempt to bring the goods into conformity.
The consumer is also entitled to a reduction in the price of the goods or termination of the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. In that case, the consumer is not required to request repair or replacement beforehand.
The consumer is not entitled to terminate the sale if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period during which the goods are unavailable for use because they are being repaired or replaced suspends the remaining guarantee period until the repaired or replacement goods are delivered.
The rights described above arise from Articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the French Consumer Code.
A seller who obstructs the exercise of the statutory guarantee of conformity in bad faith is liable to a civil fine of up to EUR 300,000, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the French Consumer Code).
The consumer also benefits from the statutory guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for two years from discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the goods are kept, or a full refund upon returning them.
For fresh truffles, these statutory periods do not promise a two-year shelf life. Conformity is assessed in light of the perishable nature of the product, the alleged defect and the storage conditions. Article L. 217-7 provides that the presumption that a defect existed on delivery does not apply where it is incompatible with the nature of the goods or the alleged defect. The exception to the right of withdrawal for rapidly perishable products does not remove the statutory guarantees.
