Truffle hunting involves locating and carefully extracting truffles. During our three-hour workshop, dogs search the ground in front of you while the team explains their work and the handler’s actions.

What happens during a truffle hunt?
You watch the dog explore, return to an area and indicate a spot to its handler. The handler then checks and carefully uncovers the truffle. The search happens live. Its pace depends on the dog, ground and what is present beneath it; the route is not a sequence of prearranged finds.
Understanding the grove
The tree, soil and fungus are the starting point for the explanations. Truffles grow underground: looking at branches cannot tell you how many are present. Our growing guide introduces mycorrhiza, host trees and monitoring a plot. You can use it to prepare questions before visiting.
The three-hour programme
The workshop combines a welcome, an introduction to the grove, searching with the dogs and tasting. Explanations accompany what you observe. Wine from Domaine Les Hermessaines can be tasted as part of the offer, with an alcohol-free alternative; wine is for adults. Bottles are purchased separately.
When to visit and how to prepare
Choose a date actually offered during black truffle season. A general seasonal calendar does not confirm a session. Wear suitable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Confirm the meeting point, access, arrangements for children, hosting language and rescheduling terms. The three hours cover the whole workshop.
Individual and group prices
Admission is €99 including tax per person for one to five people, €89 for six to nine and €85 for ten. Each session accommodates no more than ten participants. Staff and company packages of twenty or thirty places are split across several sessions; the group page explains the options and the quotation confirms arrangements.
Can you take truffles home?
Truffles found may be purchased separately at €900/kg, subject to availability, with a €50 minimum and a limit of 100 g per person. Admission does not include a take-home quantity.
